I just lost my job and will not be able to afford the financial commitments involved with being a bridesmaid. Is it OK to back out?
If serious economic crisis or other serious circumstances cause you to reconsider your role as an attendant, let the bride and groom know immediately. While the news may be upsetting at first, perhaps there will be a way for them to help you out so that you can still fill your role.
Attempting to back out for any reason other than an economic, health, or family crisis beyond your control is a risky move and generally not advised. Communicate any concerns to the couple, and things will usually work themselves out.
