Dear Patricia,

In 2006 our seminar business increased by 375%: a solid indicator that appropriate conduct in the workplace is of concern to the corporate world. Our e-newsletter will provide commentary on issues pertinent to the business world, answer frequently asked questions and offer tips and links to useful articles on our website. We encourage you to share this information with your employees via company newsletters and meetings.

Q&A's with Peter Post
Q. Help! I just hit "Reply All" instead of just "Reply" when I sent my e-mail. And what I said was not very complimentary about my supervisor who was on the cc: list! What's the right thing to do?

A. You need to fall on your sword immediately. Go to your supervisor, explain what you did and apologize. It is much better for you to take responsibility for your actions than to wait for her to come and find you to discuss the issue. Also, contact the other individuals on the cc: list and apologize to them for inadvertently including them in your response. Next time, slow down and think before you click. And if you are angry or emotional, step away from the computer! Click here for more information on "netiquette" for personal or business email.

Ask a question--win a book!
Submit your business etiquette question to the Boston Globe's "Etiquette at Work" column and you may be selected to win The Etiquette Advantage in Business. Go to Boston.com for details.
