Emily Post QuickNews
November 2007

It's the news you've been waiting for! The Emily Post Children's Etiquette Train the Trainer Program is now available to anyone interested in teaching children's etiquette workshops.

Dr. Cindy Post Senning will be conducting a two-and-a-half day intensive training session February 24 - 26, 2008, at the Grand Bohemian in Orlando, Florida. Click here to learn more!

What You'll Learn

You'll come away with the skills, knowledge and materials needed to teach etiquette classes for children. The Post's unique approach focuses on teaching not only particular manners but also on promoting an understanding of the principles underlying all manners: Consideration, Honesty and Respect. "Why Manners Matter" and "The Six Social Development Stages" create the background for understanding how to teach age-appropriate children's manners classes. From that developmental perspective, participants will examine:

  • everyday manners
  • table manners
  • manners at school
  • communication manners
  • manners for "out and about" in the community

What You'll Teach

You'll be able to teach the Emily Post "Manners for Kids" workshops created for 4-7 year olds, 8-12 year olds and for teens. For each age group there are workshops on table manners, school manners, everyday manners and special topics. You'll also receive hand-outs and tip cards to use in your workshops.

How We Help

Each participant will receive a copy of The GIft of Good Manners by Peggy Post and Cindy Post Senning, Ed.D., a step-by-step trainer's guide and all "Manners for Kids" workshop materials. You will have ongoing access to updated "Manners for Kids" workshop materials on CD or through our website. In addition, you are entitled to an annual follow-up phone consultation with Dr. Senning.

Please call or email Dawn Stanyon, Manager of Seminars and Programs at 802-860-1814 or dawn@emilypost.com for more information.
